A Long Walk From Home
9th Grade Humanities || Anna Chiles
There were two parts to this project, a written narrative and a collaborative art piece involving water color and embroidery. We were in groups of about four or five, got the chance to interview refugees our age, and rewrite their story in a narrative format. We explored a lot of different styles of creative writing prior to this project. In the art piece, every pannel had to include water color and embroidery, but the 4 pannels together had to include at least one quote and a portrait of the refugee. I got the opportunity to take almost all of the portraits of the refugees for this project which was a really cool experience because I had never done portraits like this. My pannel is down below on the bottom left with the quote. I really enjoyed this project because we got to interact with the refugees and hear their stories.
